Sports Week and Basant Festival at LCWU

22 January – 4 February 2026: Sports Week and Basant Festival at Lahore College for Women University was held from 22 January to 4 February 2026. Throughout this period, students from the History Department actively participated in various sports and performance events, showing teamwork, discipline, and consistent effort.

The week began on 22 January 2026 with the Tug of War competition. The History Department team performed well and qualified for the next rounds. The final of the event was held on 4 February 2026, where the team secured second position and won a trophy, marking a strong start to the department’s performance.

On the same day 22 January 2026, students from the History Department also participated in Aerobics. The participants took part in rehearsals and preparations, contributing to the department’s presence in performance-based events.

Badminton matches were held on 26 January 2026. The History Department team reached the semi-final stage but could not advance further. The team showed commitment and steady performance throughout the competition.

The Chatti Race took place on 27 January 2026. The History Department qualified for the semi-final and progressed to the final, which was held on 4 February 2026. The department secured second, and third positions in the final, adding to the overall success of the week.

Alongside these competitions, the History Department also prepared for the March Past. Rehearsals were conducted on 28 January, 29 January, 2 February, and 3 February 2026, with nineteen students representing the department. The final performance was held on 4 February 2026, where the department won a trophy for its disciplined and coordinated display. 

The active participation and achievements of the History Department during Sports Week 2026 were made possible under the guidance and support of Dr. Sumaira Noreen(COD), Dr. Fauzia Rashid(Focal Person/Coordinator). Their encouragement played an important role in motivating students throughout the week. 

During Sports Week 2026, the History Department participated in multiple events, reaching semi-finals and finals in several competitions. Notable achievements included trophies in Tug of War and March Past, along with top positions in the Chatti Race. While facing challenges in Badminton, the department demonstrated teamwork, dedication, and consistent effort, concluding the week with pride and strong performance.
