Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Chairperson Geography and Head IRC, and Principal Investigator of the HEC and Franco Hubert funded PERIDOT Phase IX project, represented LCWU at the International Seminar “Data and Methods for Monitoring Hydrosystems in the Anthropocene Era,” held on 1st April 2026 at Université Paris Cité, Paris, France.
She presented a DPSIR-based framework integrated with SWAT-driven simulations for sediment management in the upstream Tarbela Reservoir (Upper Indus Basin) for key stakeholders including the Tarbela Dam project and WAPDA, highlighting geospatial and modelling approaches under changing climatic conditions.
The seminar brought together international experts working on hydrosystems, including glacier-fed basins, soil erosion modelling, and remote sensing applications.
This engagement reflects LCWU’s growing contribution to international research and academic collaboration under the visionary leadership of the Vice Chancellor.
