Awareness Session on Technology Facilitating Gender-Based Violence

The Women Development Center (WDC), LCWU in collaboration with GEMS (Gender Equality and Mentorship) Leadership Society organized a virtual awareness session on Technology Facilitating Gender-Based Violence. The session was organized by Nida Tariq, Ambassador WDC, LCWU, along with her team, under the platform of GEMS Leadership Society.

The session featured Dr. Madiha Nadeem, Faculty Department of Gender and Development Studies, as the resource person. She delivered an informative session through a presentation, highlighting key issues related to online harassment, cyber abuse, and digital safety. She also shared useful applications and digital tools that can be downloaded for protection and reporting.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Uzma Ashiq, Focal Person, WDC, with the support of Dr. Madiha Nadeem, WDC Activity In-charge. A total of 35 students attended the session, with the majority belonging to the Physics Department.

Overall, the session proved to be informative and impactful in raising awareness about technology-facilitated gender-based violence and promoting digital safety among students.
