The Department of Applied Psychology, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), in collaboration with the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Society, and PPA organized a thought-provoking event to commemorate International Identity Day, highlighting the significance of identity, diversity, inclusion, and the recognition of individual experiences.
Prof. Dr. Amina Muazzam, Chairperson,Department of Applied Psychology, Additional General Secretary (PPA), Ms. Zunaira Shabbir, Incharge EDI, and Dr. Saima Eman, Ambassador EDI Society organised the event.
The event commenced with a wonderful student led panel discussion followed by a Walk. The walk focused on raising awareness about the importance of identity and the fluid nature of identity. It highlighted how identity can evolve and develop over time through personal experiences, relationships, social contexts, and changing circumstances. The activity served as a collective expression of respect for diverse identities and the importance of creating spaces where individuals can be acknowledged and valued.
The walk was also joined by Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, President of the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA), Dr. Naila Anjum, Additional General Secretary (PPA) and significant number of LCWU distinguished faculty.
